Slow Flow Tea Ingredients:

Yarrow: An astringent and anti-hemorrhagic herb which is lovely for heavy or excessive bleeding like heavy periods and postpartum bleeding. It can also be used to support menopausal flooding. Curbs heavy menstrual flow; effectively aiding in regulation of menstrual flow. High in the bioflavonoid rutin.

Red Raspberry Leaf: Tones, strengthens and nourishes tissues and function of the entire reproductive system. An astringent herb that reduces flow and period related diarrhea. May support reduction of dysmenorrhea or painful periods as well.

Cinnamon: Used in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and western herbalism as a warming circulatory stimulant for the pelvis. Helps to balance blood sugar. Supports healthy digestion and normalized uterine bleeding. Reduces nausea and vomiting associated with heavy and painful periods. 

Shepherd’s Purse: One of the most powerful uterine astringent herbs. A uterine astringent herbs work to tighten the tissues of the womb and lessen bleeding. A uterine antihemorrhagic herb to slow excessive bleeding.

Stinging Nettle: Nettle is both astringent and high in iron, vit. C and chlorophyll, all of which help iron-deficiency anaemia. It is considered an excellent nutritive herb for heavy menstrual bleeding.

Ginger Root: Anti-inflammatory & help reduce menstrual pain and discomfort. Studies suggest it may be as effective as some pain medications, like Novafen, in relieving primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods). Ginger's anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties may help with both pain and bloating associated with menstruation.

Rose Hips: High in vitamin A, C and K – all important vitamins to help tighten tissues and aid iron absorption especially when combined with iron-rich herbs such as nettle and raspberry leaf.

Chamomile: Known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties, which helps with period cramps and discomfort. Chamomile can be considered as an effective support for primary dysmenorrhea/painful menstrual periods & a reduction of menstrual bleeding.

Bayberry root bark: Reduces heavy bleeding and other uterine discharge. Alleviating cramps is another benefit of drinking the root in tea form. Women’s problems were traditionally & frequently supported with Bayberry, including such conditions as uterine prolapse and frequent or heavy periods. 

Maple Syrup: Maple syrup offer benefits for menstrual discomfort due to its nutritional content, particularly the presence of minerals like manganese and calcium, and antioxidants. These nutrients help with energy production, muscle recovery, and potentially reduce inflammation, which could be beneficial for PMS symptoms. Additionally, maple syrup's lower glycemic index compared to refined sugar can help with blood sugar stabilization and reduce the risk of spikes
